01/05/2009 - THE LIGHTYEARS PERFORM FOR 12,000 STRONG CROWD - The Lightyears to entertain 12,000 people at Peterborough Utd this Saturday.

When Peterborough United wanted pre-match entertainment that would rally the 12,000 strong crowd at the football club this Saturday, bosses at The Posh, as the team is known, decided there was only one band that could fit the bill..... The Lightyears, now firmly established as the favourite covers band on the celebrity party circuit. The Lightyears include four great-looking guys whose musicianship and singing ability is really making waves on the corporate market and festival scene with three appearances at Glastonbury under their belt and debutantes queuing up to book them for graduation and birthday parties.

Peterborough United, who were promoted last May from League Two, have just achieved a consecutive promotion and so next season will be playing in the Championship.

21/04/2009 - BOOKING ARTISTES ABROAD WITH SHOWBIZWORKS - Increase for celebrities and high quality performers at international events

Showbizworks has seen a significant increase in international bookings for performers at corporate and private events in the last three months. The entertainment agency has taken bookings for Right Said Fred to appear on a Greek island for a private birthday party, singer/guitarist JG is flying to the Isle of Capri, the Electric String Quartet are appearing at the World Retail Awards in Barcelona and a new spectacular floorshow for the Casino da Madeira produced by Showbizworks opens on 6th May 2009. 02/04/2009 - ACAPELLA GROUP SING LIVE ON BBC RADIO 2 - Testostatones Sing For Simon Mayo

The Testostatones or 4Quarters as they are also known, a four piece acapella singing group has been invited to sing live on the Simon Mayo drive-time Radio Two show, as he sits in for Chris Evans who is on holiday.

The group includes two sets of brothers and they got their big break when one of them sent a text to the show in response to a challenge from Simon Mayo asking if listeners could do better than a jingle played live on the show that had been recorded by a London drama school. The Testostatones suggested that they could.

A researcher from the show called the following day asking whether the group would be able to sing the ‘May-o' jingle, (a new version of the well known song Banana Boat song ‘Day-o' by Harry Belafonte) down the line.

The group rewrote the song with words to suit the Radio Two drive time show and were ready and waiting for the call just after the six o'clock news.

The radio station was inundated with enquiries as to who the group was and how they could get more information on them. So today (Friday), the Testostatones will be back by popular demand and live in the studio having been invited by the shows' producers to close the drive-time show with their version of the jingle.

The family group members have performed together for over 12 years, and specialise in Doo-Wop, classic Rock & Roll and BeBop, they also incorporate Gospel, Jazz, Soul and contemporary covers into their sets. With no need for instruments or backing tracks, the group can perform any time and anywhere and can write bespoke lyrics themed to your event!
