Laurie Holloway - Composer and Band Leader

Best known as the musical director for the Michael Parkinson Television Series and the highly successful "Strictly Come Dancing" Television Series.

He has been musical director for Bob Monkhouse, Ronnie Corbett, Rolf Harris, Bruce Forsyth, Dame Edna Everage and Lily Savage among numerous other notable light entertainment figures.

Laurie has appeared with the London Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic, The Boston Pops Orchestra as both conductor and featured pianist. He has also composed long running TV themes.

Despite the Parkinson show having finally coming to an end after many years and Laurie having moved on from his work with Strictly Come Dancing, he continues to be in demand for television projects, guest appearances and is hugely popular for high end corporate events with his own trio and big band.

The Laurie Holloway Trio -

Featuring Laurie's own songs, Beatles medleys, southern medleys, fantastic jazz numbers and he sometimes includes wonderful anecdotes of his life as a piano player accompanying the best in the business. Laurie will often invite guest to sing, such as Jacqui Dankworth, Tina May, and the great Jazz singer Kenny Lynch.

One of the most recent accompanying performances was with Liza Minnelli on the Alan Titchmarsh Show. Liza always asks to work with Laurie when she comes over to the UK.
Recently he performed with his trio at Sir Alan Sugar's 40th wedding anniversary with Bruce Forsyth. Also performing were the Jersey Boys and Elton John.

Strictly Laurie Holloway and his Parkinson Big Band –

With the popularity of Strictly Come Dancing, which Laurie launched as musical director for the first three series, this is a perfect show for those bigger events where the guests can be blown away by the best Big Band in the business.

Laurie's amazing 18 piece orchestra and 3 singers (often Tommy Blaize from ‘Strictly' and the wonderful jazz singer Kenny Lynch) perform all the great dance tunes – based loosely on the Strictly Come Dancing series (but not exclusively) and incorporating fantastic Big Band and Strictly numbers. The night can also include a fabulous pianist who can play background music during cocktails, dinner and band breaks. The Laurie Holloway Big Band package takes care of all the music for an entire evening.

Laurie's Big Band programme includes songs such as Lady is a Tramp, Smooth, Do You Love Me, Leave Right Now, Let's Face The Music And Dance, Come Away with Me, Mr Bojangles, Great Balls of Fire, Let's do It (Let's Fall in Love), Roxanne, Fly Me To The Moon, April in Paris, It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing, specialising in traditional big band jazz numbers with a modern twist.
