26/03/2012 - ZOE TYLER DOES HER BIT FOR SPORT RELIEF! - Zoe Tyler appointed vocal coach for "The Big Hitters'

Showbizworks provided Zoe Tyler for a very special challenge for this year's Sport Relief. Zoe worked as a vocal coach with the 23 strong Big Hitters that featured some of rugby's greatest legends including Austin Healey, Ben Kay, Brian Moore, Colin Charvis, Kyran Bracken, Mike Catt and Shane Williams who are all better known for their sporting rather than singing skills. Each of them committed to putting their vocal chords on the line when they performed their three minute version of JLS's ‘Proud' live in front of a packed out audience of 82,000 rugby fans. Zoe did a great job and the rugby players sang live on Sport Relief with JLS on Friday night on BBC1. The official Sport Relief single, Proud, will be available to download on 18th March and in stores from 19th March. At least 42p for each download on iTunes and at least £1 from the sale of each CD will go to Sport Relief. The money raised from the single and by the public for Sport Relief will be spent helping people living incredibly tough lives, both at home in the UK and across the world's poorest countries. Pre-order Proud on iTunes: www.itunes.apple.com. Zoe is available for corporate bookings for more information click Zoe Tyler
27/01/2012 - SHOWBIZWORKS PRODUCE COMEDY CARPET LIVE WEEKEND - Showbizworks appointed to create and produce weekend of comedy for Blackpool with headliners Barry and Stuart from The Magician's

You'd be a fool to miss out on the laughs taking place in Blackpool this April as Marketing Blackpool has announced the launch of Comedy Carpet Live, a festival of shows created and produced by Showbizworks taking place over April Fool's weekend, 31st March and 1st April 2012. It is set to become an annual celebration the week before Easter, and is inspired by Blackpool's latest piece of public artwork, The Comedy Carpet on the Tower Festival Headland.
Natalie Wyatt, Managing Director of Marketing Blackpool said: "This event complements the success of the Comedy Carpet on the Tower Festival Headland and has been planned to help to kick start the season by bringing in visitors early for Easter. We intend to make this an annual event as Blackpool is steeped in comedy heritage making the town perfect for supporting new and established talent."
The live shows kick off on Saturday evening at 9.30pm, with the Merrie England Bar on North Pier hosting an adult comedy show starring Manchester based group Slaughterhouse Live. They already have a cult following on the comedy circuit and have had their own show on Granada, but incredibly, this will be their debut performance in Blackpool. Following sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, a critic from The List said: "This five-strong comedy cabaret pulsates with enough anarchic energy to power a small European principality."
On Sunday afternoon at North Pier Theatre, Comedy 4 Kids will provide something for children and families with an hour long show featuring CBBC and Royal Variety Show stars Big Howard and Little Howard; Show Me The Funny finalist Stuart Goldsmith; and Comedy 4 Kids star Tiernan Douieb, the latter of whom hopes to go on Dragon's Den to present his idea of putting zips on pitta breads!
The weekend culminates with the Comedy Carpet Live Gala Show at The Grand Theatre starring comedy illusionists Barry and Stuart from BBC television's prime time show The Magicians. Also on the bill will be musical comedy double act Frisky and Mannish (as heard on BBC Radio 1 and stars of their own sell out London Hammersmith Apollo and Edinburgh shows); ‘children's entertainer' Jeremy Lion (alter ego of Justin Edwards from Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week); comedy legend Bernie Clifton, who is featured on the promenade's Comedy Carpet; and Chris Ramsay, soon to be seen in his own BBC series, complete the line up. Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Jason Cook who has appeared on various TV comedy shows including Russell Howard's Good News.
Martin explained: "We wanted to create an event that could grow and evolve into something that would eventually drive significant business into the town by extending the start of the traditional season. Marketing Blackpool share that vision and Comedy Carpet Live will help to raise the profile of the new regenerated Blackpool and position the town as a platform for more contemporary artistes. We have tried to reflect this in the line-up of artistes with a nod to comedy legends. Many of the performers have not been seen in the town before and we are keen to break new ground with this event each year by placing Blackpool firmly back on the map for attracting the best comedy talent."
Tickets for the shows are available from 10am on Monday 30 January. For further information, or to book tickets, please click Visit Blackpoolor call 01253 478222

Bellydance Superstars

The Bellydance Superstars, the world's premier bellydance troupe, have performed 375 concerts in 16 countries in just three years, wowing over 1 million enthusiastic fans in venues and 80 million on television with their fascinating live performances.
Comprised of America's best-known, most sought-after bellydancers – many of whom are expert bellydance instructors – the invigorating troupe is the only professional dance company of its kind on tour, making their performances and workshops popular affairs. The dancers themselves come from a variety of dance backgrounds ranging from Egyptian, Mexican, Latin, Classical Ballet, jazz and others. Critics and fans alike note it is the star power of the individual dancers that differentiate the Bellydance Superstars from touring troupes with faceless unknowns. Each dancer has their own individual fan base as the brand of the troupe is simultaneously being built.
Performing a cross-section of Tribal, Egyptian and Cabaret styles, the Bellydance Superstars exhibit an intoxicating spectacle that transports the audience to a distant time and place while stimulating all the senses. Taking an ancient art form into the mainstream, they have garnered international acclaim from critics (Rolling Stone, Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph, DesiXpress), instructors, dancers and fans alike.
The troupe's new show, "Raqs Carnivale," features all new choreography, costumes and production. Dressed in luxurious colourful costumes led by main choreographer and artistic director Jillina, the dancers (Sonia, Sharon Kihara, Adore, Bozenka, Petite Jamilla, Colleen, Georgianne, Mardi Love, Kami Liddle, Moria, Sabah, Hannah Nour, Rachel Brice) beautifully display the true art of bellydance. The exotic sounds of haunting melodies echo throughout each venue during each show, and the dancers perform in front of an amazing backdrop with washes of lighting and flame-effects.
Over half a million people were first exposed to the Bellydance Superstars on the Lollapalooza rock tour in 2003 following auditions in 2002. That auspicious beginning led to many achievements, including a stint at the famed Folies Bergere in Paris in 2005 that garnered rave reviews and standing room only crowds. The Bellydance Superstars have truly set a new standard for bellydance and proved, without a doubt, its wide appeal to a Western audience.
Countless television appearances (Live with Regis & Kelly with dance cameos from the famous co-hosts!) and impressive press coverage have added huge impetus to an already intense interest in this sensual dance art that celebrates all women. the Bellydance Superstars have sold out shows in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Italy, France, Spain, Monte Carlo and all over Europe, and are now gearing up for a tour of Latin America. Testimonials
"The most important dance troupe in the world." The Sunday Times
"It's the new Riverdance." Daily Telegraph
"…In a world filled with war, hatred and distrust, how refreshing to share the beauty and culture of the Arabic Middle East. Forgive the cliché, but music and dance do transcend and break down culture barriers and prejudices. The Bellydance Superstars are a multi-ethnic company who, in the course of the evening, manage to stretch the choreographic boundaries of belly dancing to overlap those of flamenco, samba, salsa and other ethnic styles." Richard Elfman (from opening night of the Spring 2006 U.S. tour)
"East meets West in an enticing blend of music and motion…The Superstars are doing more than just shaking their hips; they're giving Americans a window to a world beyond the Middle East turmoil shown nightly on CNN." Fort Collins Weekly
